The Temple of Wat Tang Sai [วัดทางสาย], Ban Krut.

Ban Krut is a pleasant town resort on the Gulf of Thailand. The sandy beach is particularly large and stretches for miles and miles down the coast.

But just on the northern side, there is a forested peninsula with a temple and a giant Buddha. Seen for a distance, the temple crowns perfectly the hill [Thong Chai Mountain] on which it stands. It is a clear example of a mountain-temple.

It is called Wat Tang Sai and was built in 1996 by the former, beloved King Bhumibol Adulyadej, known as Rama IX on his 50th anniversary of reign. This is a beautiful temple built in the Rattanakosin style. It has nine golden pagodas standing for King Rama IX.

From the garden, there is a majestic white staircase with the effigy of a 5-headed Naga on each side, leading to the top of the hill. The view from the temple is impressive.

Although it is a modern temple, the interior has murals and is elegantly decorated in the purest Thai style.
