Bangkok skyline has now a new landmark. If the King Power Mahanakhon has been standing for a few years as the highest skyscraper of the Thai capital, the brand new skywalk has only been open to

the public recently. At 314m high, it is the highest point in the City of Angels, offering a stunning 360º panoramic view, complete with a rooftop bar and an eerie glass-bottom terrace, limited to a few shoeless daring people, whose number are strictly filtered each time!

1971). It is a mixed purpose 78-floor building, which serves as a retail, a luxury hotel, and a residential area, now topped with a public observatory.
It is is located in the business area of Chong Nongsi with an elevated BTS station at the ground level, close to Silom Road in downtown Bangkok. It is an engineering state-of-the-art building, conspicuous for its 'deconstruction' appearance, providing the first impression of an unfinished building.
An ultra-fast elevator takes you to the skywalk rooftop. Tickets are not cheap but juniors and seniors get a hefty reduction for the visit. And in a country prone to make 'farangs' (foreigners) pay much more than locals, it is rather unusual to see that the reductions are for anybody. Kudos then to the King Power company as being a sign of a Time change highly appreciated!
